Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin Beaucastel 300cl 2000
Dating back to 1549, Château de Beaucastel is undoubtedly one of the oldest and finest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and has been run by successive generations of the supremely talented Perrin family. 1989 was the debut vintage for the flagship wine, Hommage a Jacques Perrin, and is only made in the best years with production limited to around 350 cases on average. From the sensational 2000 vintage, this is a powerhouse release made from a blend of 60% Mourvedre, 20% Grenache, 10% Counoise and 10% Syrah. Bold, concentrated and incredibly seductive, it offers up notes red cherry, blackberry, wild herbs, liquorice, exotic spices and leather. A profound wine of immense complexity that will happily continue to age for at least another two decades.
