’Les Ruchottes’ is often considered the unofficial flagship wine of Domaine Ramonet having been the first plot of land purchased by founder, Pierre Ramonet, in 1926. He cleared the land by hand and brought in his first of sixty-five harvests in 1929. Still a parcel with some of the domaine’s oldest vines, this is usually a wonderfully rich yet tensile wine.

Allen Meadows of Burghound noted in 2016, that the 1976 had “seriously impressive concentration” with “rich, powerful and sappy big-bodied flavours.” As a vintage, 1976 is generally considered as excellent for white Burgundy but this should be drunk relatively soon.
