Olivier represents the fourth generation of the Jouan family, and in 1999, he assumed the management of vineyards that had been passed down from his grandfather. These 4.5 hectares of land had been divided among three children, and Olivier now oversees his father`s vineyards and those of his uncle Michael. The specific release is sourced from the Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin, where Olivier possesses a 0.35-hectare vineyard parcel. Olivier`s winemaking style is characterized by producing dense, dark, and highly concentrated wines, setting them apart from the wines made by his cousin, Philippe Jouan.
