Based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, the family-owned Domaine Fourrier is currently managed by the prolific winemaker Jean-Marie Fourrier. Before taking over from his father in 1994, Jean-Marie worked as an apprentice for both Henry Jayer and Véronique Drouhin at Domaine Drouhin in Oregon. The domaine owns 0.29 hectares in the premier cru Les Gruenchers which was planted in 1928. The Pinot Noir grapes from these old vines give the wine a remarkable concentration and length.
