With 78 hectares of prestigious vineyards across the appellation, Domaine William Fèvre is one of the biggest landowners in Chablis and is often cited as a benchmark for quality and terroir expression. Vinification is very traditional with fermentation and maturation on fine lees undertaken in a combination of stainless and seasoned oak (ave. 6 years old).
Due to its similar geological features and favourable exposure, Montée de Tonnerre can often produce wines of similar quality to those from Grands Crus. The 2018 is rich, medium- to full-bodied and expansive on the palate, with wonderful notes of green apple, citrus, white flower blossom, crushed shells and iodine. It has ample volume, acidity and complexity to age very well over the next decade, though it is drinking superbly already.
