Rutherglen Muscat is a unique style wine to Australia in which Muscat grapes are left to raisin on the vine before being fermented and fortified with grape spirit. This is followed by very long ageing in oak casks at high temperatures where the wine darkens and acquires intense aromas and flavours of brown sugar, caramel, raisins and figs. These wines are lusciously sweet and pair with most desserts.
