1900 was fantastic vintage in the Douro. The wines were delicate and harmonious with the capacity to age for decades. This single vintage Colheita Port was aged in oak barrels before release to contribute complexity, depth and stability to the wine. Notes of dried fruit and toasted nuts mingle with caramel and toffee on the nose. The palate is complex, and evolving with notes of spice, leather and a hint of dry oak. The finish is lifted, elegant and near endless - superb.
