Founded in 1859, Louis Jadot is one of the most consistent growers and négociant houses in Burgundy. Its vast portfolio offers over 220 different wines from key vineyards in Chablis, the Côte d’Or, Côte Chalonnaise, the Maconnais and Beaujolais. This particular release comes from the prestigious Bonnes-Mares, a Grand Cru vineyard in the Côte de Nuits where Jadot owns a tiny 0.27-hectare parcel. The 1995 vintage exudes notes of black cherries, redcurrants, gravelly earth, dried herbs and slightly meaty undertones.
