Domaine de la Vougeraie was created in 1999 when Jean-Claude Boisset consolidated all the vineyard holdings accrued from his various négociant companies, consisting nearly 40 hectares of vines across 30 different appellations and including six grand crus. In recent years, this organic certified domaine has hit a new gear and is producing some of the most compelling wines in the region.
The 2017 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet was produced from a tiny 0.46ha plot of vines planted in 1977 and was matured in 33% new oak for 18 months. A wine of excellent concentration and precision, this is tightly wound but has great potential for the future.
