 Pavie 2005 is a highly acclaimed red wine from Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux. This wine is a blend of Merlot (around 70%) with Cabernet Franc (around 20%) and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. The Pavie estate is situated with a favourable southern exposure, benefiting from exceptional natural drainage. Chantal and Gérard Perse acquired this estate in 1998, catalysing a significant transformation in quality, with a focus on meticulous vineyard practices and barrel ageing that incorporates varying levels of new oak. This is a hugely impressive example of the grand vin from a hot vintage.

 Vérité was founded in 1997 by the late visionary Jess Jackson and long-time Bordeaux vigneron, Pierre Seillan. In just over 20 years, the winery has managed to forge a reputation for itself as one of the most consistent producers of elite level fine wine in California. They produce just three wines, La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir, all of which are based on the traditional varieties of Bordeaux.

La Muse is an ode to Merlot and is inspired by the rich and powerful, yet incredibly refined wines of Pomerol. Though hard to believe given the extraordinary quality of the 2013, this is an effort that will at least rival, if not better, it in years to come. The 2014 is a stunning blend composed of 87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec.

 L`Evangile 2009 is a noteworthy red Bordeaux produced by the Rothschild family in the prestigious Pomerol appellation. The wine underwent maturation in 100% new French oak barrels, which contributes to its structural integrity.  The Grand Vin of Château Margaux 2019 is a truly excellent vintage. In the words of the critic James Suckling, "Amazing aromas of crushed stones and wet soil with fresh mushrooms, then going on to violets and other flowers. Dark fruit, too. Full-bodied, yet agile and fine, with a linear flow of tannins that run through the center of palate. The finesse of the tannins is exceptional, like raw silk and changing all the time. Cool and energetic, yet reserved. Zen-like. 37% of the production and 90% cabernet sauvignon, 7% merlot, 2% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. So well balanced that you can drink it now, but this is one to leave for a decade and more. Ethereal."

They produce just three wines - La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir - all of which are based on the traditional varieties of Bordeaux.

Le Désir was first produced in the year 2000 and is an homage to the fragrant and opulent wines of St-Émilion. The 2015 is once again superb release that continues an astonishing run of form for this winery. A blend of 64% Cabernet Franc, 27% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec, it is expressive, multi-layered and complex, with the potential to evolve over many decades.

Clos du Mesnil is a rare blanc de blancs produced only in exceptional years from a single 1.84ha plot in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Krug embarked on a restoration of this historic plot in 1971 and this 1979 bottling is the inaugural vintage release. Expect a captivating bouquet revealing intricate scents of tangerine, caramel, and dried raisins. Despite its age, the palate maintains a lively character with vibrant acidity, leading to an endlessly lingering finish. A truly a remarkable wine.

 E. Guigal has long been renowned for its magnificent trio of single-vineyard Côte-Rôtie wines. La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque. La Mouline was the first - its debut vintage being 1966 – and is perhaps the most floral of the Big Three. The nose of this 1983 vintage is indeed predominantly floral, including iris, honeysuckle, violet and lilac. Fruity and spicy aromas are also present, such as cherries, plums, blackberries, rosemary, fennel, cinnamon and cloves. The palate is full-bodied, with high-toned acidity and long aftertaste. Absolutely one of the best vintages of E. Guigal’s La Mouline.

The palate is elegant and full-bodied, with super fine-grained tannins and a layered, mineral-laced finish. The Salmanazar format will allow the wine`s immense concentration and structure to evolve over many decades.
