Le Pin 2010 offers a distinct expression of its terroir, crafted entirely from Merlot sourced from three contiguous parcels of land, with yields recorded at 34hl/ha. This vintage displays aromas of ripe red berries, delicate floral notes and subtle hints of cherry liqueur. The palate reveals an intricate layering of flavours that includes compote fruit and mineral undertones. The wine`s structure is refined and precise, showcasing impressive complexity. Renowned for its meticulous winemaking, Le Pin is led by Jean-Claude Berrouet, who has influenced the estate’s style significantly.
100 Robert Parker
The 2010 Le Pin is made from 100% Merlot. Deep garnet in color, it bursts from the glass with unbridled, hedonic notions of baked plums, Black Forest cake, Chinese five spice and blueberry pie plus wafts of smoked meats, candied violets, dark chocolate and cigar box. Medium-bodied, the palate exudes slow maturing black and blue berry layers, framed by firm, oh-so-plush tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing with incredible length and depth. Already drop dead gorgeous, this beautiful baby has a very long life ahead! - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
95 Vinous
The 2010 Le Pin has a more extrovert and richer bouquet compared to Petrus, perhaps a little warmer with red berry fruit, gingerbread, dried blood and light earthy/ash-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins on the entry. It is rounded in texture, more savoury and more advanced into its secondary phase compared to Petrus. Yet it is still a gorgeous Pomerol with a beguiling ferrous finish. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the BI Wines & Spirits 10-Year On tasting. Neal Martin1st April 2020

A Mould-Breaking Pomerol

Le Pin is one of the newer names of Bordeaux having only made its debut in 1979. The estate takes its name from the pine trees that first stood outside the winery. Situated on Bordeaux's Right Bank, in the prestigious appellation of Pomerol. Production is truly miniscule by Bordeaux standards and Le Pin is thus one of the most highly sought-after wines in the world.

The estate unveiled a state-of-the-art new winery in 2012 and produces superb red wines from 100% Merlot vines that are an average of 40 years old. Beautifully opulent wines, with a seductive, velvety texture and floral complexity. Organic practices are adopted in the vineyard and wines can be aged for up to 22 months in new oak.
