Mas de Boislauzon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Quet 2010 is a full-bodied, blended red wine from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the southern Rhône Valley. A blend, typically, of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvedre, Cuvée de Quet is the flagship wine of the certified-biodynamic Mas de Boislauzon. Expect ripe, full-bodied and lushly hedonistic Chateauneuf.

“The remarkable 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Quet boasts a dark ruby/purple color along with a stunning bouquet of spring flowers, cranberries, black raspberries, blueberries, forest floor, incense and bouquet garni. The wine builds incrementally in the mouth, and the finish lasts nearly a minute. This amazingly full-bodied, gorgeously pure Chateauneuf du Pape has everything one could desire in a dry red wine. Enjoy it over the next 20+ years.” 100 points, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, October 2012

Produced from 100% hand harvested Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on the J.J. Cohn Estate. Winemaker Celia Welch describes the 2014 vintage as follows, `The consistency of this vintage during the growing season has, not surprisingly, manifested itself in the overall impression of the finished wine. Lovely cassis, black plum, violets, dried blackberries on the vine, baking spices, chestnut, and just a hint of fresh earth interconnect in the very forward aromas of this unmistakably Rutherford Cabernet. On the palate, the entry is balanced and elegant, polished but with a clear density, a flavor core that adds gravitas and suggests ageability. The finish is of wild plums, black cherry jam, and a hint of warm vanilla.`

Petrus 1974

Petrus 1974

HED42778

75 cl
12.5% ABV
£1,990.00
A red wine from Pomerol, Petrus 1974 is crafted entirely from Merlot, exhibiting a modest 12% alcohol level. The vintage faced challenges due to autumn rains, necessitating careful vinification approaches and limiting extraction to maintain balance. Characterised by notes of red cherries, forest floor, and leather, this wine offers a lighter frame compared to illustrious years like 1970 or 1975. The unique blue clay soil of the Petrus vineyard contributes to its structural complexity and mid-palate weight, allowing it to age better than many of its peers from the same season. This wine reflects the resilience inherent to its terroir.

£2,220.00
Founded in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley and is often seen as a benchmark for quality Côte-Rôtie. The top three wines from Guigal are known affectionately in some circles as the La La’s, which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque. La Landonne made its debut in 1978 and is produced from 2 hectares of Syrah on the Côte Brune, vinified in stainless steel and aged in 100% new French oak for up to 42 months. The 1985 is powerful and savoury, exhibiting intense notes of dried black fruits, dark cherry, leather, woodsmoke, liquorice, soy and truffle.
