 Pétrus 2009 is a full-bodied, Merlot-based red wine from the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. Pétrus is undoubtedly one of the most iconic wines in the world and widely recognized as the crème de la crème of the Pomerol region. The Merlot-based wine comes from an 11.4-hectare vineyard located on a plateau, in the far east of the appellation. Available here in double-magnum format, the 2009 vintage is a dense and concentrated wine, bursting with red berries, blue fruit, notes of coffee, mocha, chocolate, earth and leather. Approachable now but it should have a long life.

This wine originates from a specific section of the Adrianna Vineyard noted for its distinctive oval white stones, remnants of an ancient riverbed. These stones enhance drainage and help regulate temperature shifts at high altitude, soaking up heat during the day and releasing it at night, contributing to the wine’s structure and complexity. Ideal for ageing, this 600cl format can be enjoyed until 2035 and beyond.
