Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The Ridge Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon 1992 is a notable Bordeaux-style blend from this esteemed vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Comprising primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Merlot and Petit Verdot, this wine offers a structured palate with substantial tannins. The 1992 vintage benefitted from warm temperatures, promoting riper fruit flavours and firmer structure than in typical years. Ridge has a legacy of utilising naturally occurring yeasts in its red wines, distinguishing it from many California producers. This magnum format allows for extended maturation.

This was a magical showing for the 1992 Monte Bello—and the best bottle I`ve ever encountered. At age 26, the wine is still stunningly vibrant and youthful, bursting from the glass with a classic bouquet of cassis, blackberries, black truffles, gravelly soil and pencil shavings. On the palate, it`s full-bodied, multidimensional and utterly complete, with superb concentration and energy, its richly layered mid-palate framed by fine-grained, satiny tannins, concluding with a long, sapid finish. Above all, it stands out for its seamless balance and delineation. While for many years the more flashy and dramatic 1991 stole the limelight, as the dust settles, the deeper, more complex 1992 has emerged as the greater wine and one of Ridge`s true classics. The product of an October harvest after extensive crop thinning, it`s a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot that attained 13.4% natural alcohol. - William Kelley

The 1992 Monte Bello from Ridge came in a magnum. Black plum and iodine, melted dark chocolate, cassis and peppermint on the complex nose, a scent of a Wellington boot emerging with aeration! The palate is beautifully balanced, still youthful and vibrant with almost pixelated fruit, star anis towards the persistent finish. Perhaps provenance and format played a role here, but this is absolutely delicious. Tasted at the "Judgement of Clapham Junction" dinner in London. Neal Martin1st March 2022

Named after the historic vineyard area of Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains has been a byword for fine Californian wine since the early 1960s. Ridge shot to fame in the fabled 1976 Judgement of Paris. It was at this groundbreaking blind tasting that the 1971 Ridge Monte Bello was pitted against some of the most revered First Growths of Bordeaux. It placed fifth. (NB: in a re-enactment of the same tasting held in 2006, Monte Bello 1971 placed first.)

Under legendary winemaker Paul Draper, Ridge Vineyards became renowned for the exceptional quality of its single-vineyard wines. Though Draper has now retired, the estate continues to produce terroir-focused wines with the same commitment to organic farming and traditional winemaking techniques. From the fine Bordeaux blends and Chardonnays of Monte Bello to the Zinfandels of Lytton Springs and Geyserville in Sonoma, and all points in between, Ridge Vineyards remains one of the most celebrated names in California wine.
