Hundred Acre Wraith is produced by Jayson Woodbridge, who founded the winery in 2000. Woodbridge is known for his meticulous approach to winemaking and an unwavering commitment to quality. Hundred Acre wines are highly sought after and have earned numerous high scores from critics. The 2017 vintage of Hundred Acre Wraith comes from a challenging growing season in Napa Valley due to heat spikes and wildfires. However, the fruit for this wine was harvested before the fires, which means it was not affected by any potential smoke taint. The wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in 100% new French oak barrels for an extended period.

While Clinet can trace its origins back to the late 18th century, the winery more recently shot to fame following the involvement of cult oenologist Michel Rolland. Moving from classically-styled Bordeaux to a richer, riper style, the wine began to be compared with more famous Pomerol estates such as Le Pin, Lafleur & even Petrus. The wine is Merlot-dominant & produces only a small quantity of wine from it`s 9-hectares of vines.

Cote Rotie La Landonne Guigal 2009

Cote Rotie La Landonne Guigal 2009

HED9942

75 cl
13% ABV
£400.00
Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Landonne 2009 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Syrah grapes in the Côte-Rôtie appellation of the northern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley and is often seen as a benchmark for quality Côte-Rôtie. The top three wines from Guigal are known affectionately in some circles as the La La`s, which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque. La Landonne made its debut in 1978 and is produced from 2 hectares of Syrah on the Côte Brune, vinified in stainless steel and aged in 100% new French oak for up to 42 months. "Much more upfront and easy to read than the backward 2010, the 2009 Cote Rotie la Landonne is an insanely beautiful wine. Smoked meats, game, black olives, charcoal, black raspberries and pepper all literally soar from this beauty and it hits the palate with a massively concentrated, almost over-the-top decadence that`s impossible to resist. Despite its wealth of fruit, it has a huge core of tannin and needs 4-5 years at a minimum. Like the 2010, it will have a half-century or more of longevity." 100 points, Wine Advocate, 2015
