Côte-Rôtie La Landonne Guigal 2010 is a single-vineyard Syrah from the northern Rhône region. This wine comes from the prestigious La Landonne lieu-dit, renowned for its steep slopes and iron-rich terraced vineyards. The 2010 vintage is marked by exceptional ripeness, delivering a concentrated profile with notes of black fruit, tobacco and subtle roasted nuances. The wine undergoes complete de-stemming and is aged for four years in 100% new French oak, contributing to its complex structure and depth. Established in 1946, E Guigal is recognised for elevating the Côte-Rôtie appellation to international acclaim. This vintage offers significant ageing potential.

Glass-staining ruby. Potent smoke- and spice-accented black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by sexy potpourri and incense nuances that build with aeration. Sweet, penetrating blackberry and cherry liqueur flavors stain the palate, with licorice pastille and violet qualities coming in slowly. Rich yet lively and precise, finishing with outstanding energy and chewy tannins that frame the wine's lush, alluringly sweet fruit. Josh Raynolds1st February 2015

Benchmark for Côte-Rôtie excellence

Founded in the village of Ampuis by Etienne Guigal in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley, and is often seen as a benchmark for Côte-Rôtie Syrah. A pioneer of the single-vineyard concept in this appellation Guigal is best known for its top three wines, known affectionately as the 'La-Las', which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque – the domaine's top Syrah vineyards .

Other notable vineyards of this 75-hectare estate include La Doriane (the source of Guigal's Condrieu), Ex-Voto (used for Hermitage) and Vignes de l'Hospice (the source of one of Guigal's top St-Joseph Syrahs). All of these have become benchmark wines of their respective appellations. The Crozes-Hermitage appellation completes the roster of Northern Rhône estate vineyards.

Since 2006, Guigal has made a substantial investment in appellations of the Southern Rhône, using top-quality purchased fruit from trusted growers in Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and the Côtes du Rhône.
