Bunnahabhain is renowned for producing one of Islay`s most distinctive and elegant single malts, celebrated for its rich, oily texture and naturally fruity, nutty character. Maturation in a First Fill Oloroso Butt is particularly well suited to the distillery`s robust spirit style, gradually imparting layers of dried fruits, dark chocolate, walnut, sweet spice and polished oak while complementing the distillate`s naturally maritime and malty character. Over time, the generous size of the butt will encourage a slow, measured interaction between spirit and oak, allowing complexity and depth to develop without overwhelming the distillery`s signature style.

This cask of Bunnahabhain was filled on 9th January 2025 with new make spirit at 63.5% ABV. Matured in a first-fill bourbon cask, it promises to combine the intense smoky and maritime qualities of Islay peat with the sweet, creamy, and vanilla-rich influence of fresh bourbon oak. The high phenol content in the spirit sets the stage for a bold flavour profile, with layers of peat smoke balanced by oak-driven notes as the whisky matures. At the time of filling, the cask was estimated to yield approximately 250 bottles.

Highland Park’s spirit is celebrated for its subtle peat influence, heather honey character and maritime complexity, making Orkney whisky highly sought after among collectors and independent bottlers alike. Refill wood provides a gentler maturation profile, allowing the distillery character to remain at the forefront while encouraging slow, refined development.

This refill hogshead was filled in May 2025 at a formidable cask strength of 68% ABV, with an Original Litres of Alcohol (OLA) of 165.

A powerful and expressive spirit, it holds strong potential for long-term ageing, gradually mellowing to reveal layers of earthy peat smoke, iodine, citrus peel, and sea breeze minerality. This offer includes three years of storage and insurance at Braeside Bond.

This first fill bourbon barrel of Caol Ila was 15 January 2026 at a cask strength of 63.6% ABV into a 200 litre first-fill Wild Turkey barrel. With 120 original litres of pure alcohol, equivalent to approximately 188 litres of bulk spirit, the cask provides a robust foundation for long term ageing. The fresh bourbon wood is expected to complement Caol Ila’s elegant peat with layers of vanilla, toasted oak, coconut, and gentle baking spice, while amplifying the distillery’s signature citrus, brine, and clean smoke. The result should be a whisky that develops depth and sweetness without losing clarity or maritime definition.

Royal Brackla Distillery was established in 1812 by Captain William Fraser near Cawdor in the Scottish Highlands. It was the first Scotch whisky to receive a Royal Warrant, awarded in 1833 by King William IV, a distinction held by only three distilleries. Ownership passed through several hands before becoming part of John Dewar & Sons under Bacardi Limited.

Royal Brackla produces whisky using traditional Highland methods, with Oregon pine washbacks and copper pot stills featuring boil balls to refine the spirit. Water from the Cawdor Burn contributes to the whisky’s Highland profile.

This second fill wine barrique was filled with around 220-litres of new make spirit on 19th May 2025 at a natural cask strength of 68.00% ABV. The barrique promises to temper the power of the high-strength new make, layering gentle red fruit tones, soft spice, and a touch of tannic grip over the intensely smoky distillate. The second fill cask ensures that the influence of the wine remains elegant and balanced, allowing the peat-driven spirit to stay at the forefront while gaining complexity over time.

This cask, distilled in February 2026 and filled into a refill barrel at 63.7% ABV, offers a pure expression of the distillery’s character with the potential for long term evolution. Crucially, the cask includes full naming rights, allowing the owner to shape its identity and presentation when bottled, creating a truly bespoke Ardbeg-derived single cask.

These casks were filled on 25 May 2026 into 2nd Fill Sherry Hogsheads at a filling strength of 63.5% ABV. Mortlach`s rich, full-bodied spirit is exceptionally well suited to sherry maturation, allowing the whisky to develop layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and warming spice whilst retaining the distillery`s signature weight and savoury complexity. A second-fill sherry cask provides a more balanced maturation than a fresh sherry cask, allowing the distillery character to remain at the forefront while gradually building elegance and depth over time. With approximately 229 to 248 bulk litres remaining in each cask, these represent an attractive opportunity to acquire young spirit from one of Speyside`s most respected names at the very start of its maturation journey.

This refill Bourbon barrel of Clynelish was filled on 17th June 2025 at a natural cask strength of 63.6% ABV. A refill cask ensures that the spirit’s hallmark waxiness is allowed to shine, complemented by gentle maritime freshness, orchard fruits, and a touch of spice. Over time, the maturation will gradually weave these elements together, building depth without masking the distillery’s singular character. The barrel was filled with roughly 200 litres of new make spirit.

This first fill bourbon barrel of Peallach will be filled in August 2025 at a cask strength of 63.5% ABV. The fresh bourbon wood promises to enhance the spirit’s peated profile, layering in notes of vanilla, coconut, and gentle spice while allowing the coastal smokiness and earthy depth of Ledaig to shine. With a capacity of around 200 litres, this cask is set to mature into a richly smoky, sweetly rounded dram with excellent ageing potential.

Filled at an impressively high 68.7% ABV, this cask has been laid down in a first fill bourbon barrel sourced directly from Bardstown Bourbon Company, one of the most technologically advanced and acclaimed distilleries in Kentucky. Known for its rich and complex high-rye bourbons, Bardstown barrels are prized for their ability to impart sweet oak, vanilla bean, coconut husk, and subtle toasted spice — a perfect complement to Islay peat.

As the whisky develops, we expect this cask to evolve beautifully, layering charred oak and butterscotch over sweet orchard fruits and iodine smoke, with time coaxing out hints of sea salt, lemon peel, warm clove, and cigar ash. With its robust ABV, the spirit is set to age gracefully, offering great flexibility for extended maturation or an earlier bottling with intense flavour concentration.
