Ledaig (pronounced “led-chig”) is the peated expression from the Tobermory Distillery, located on the Isle of Mull. Founded in 1798, Tobermory is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and has long embraced the maritime influence of its surroundings. While its unpeated namesake spirit, Tobermory, reflects a soft and fruity Highland style, Ledaig offers a much bolder character — rich, smoky, and coastal.

Produced in limited quantities, Ledaig whisky is prized by enthusiasts for its full-bodied peat smoke (filled into cask at 40ppm), oily texture, and complex notes of brine, pepper, and cured meat. It’s a style that often matures beautifully over time, gaining layers of maritime depth and earthiness that are sought after by independent bottlers and collectors alike.

Nc`nean, located on the west coast of Scotland, has built a reputation as one of the country’s most forward-thinking distilleries. With a focus on sustainability and organic production, it produces a light, fragrant spirit that often shows notes of citrus, stone fruit, and delicate herbs, underpinned by a creamy sweetness. Nc`nean’s whiskies are admired for their elegance and modern approach, making single casks from the distillery highly sought after.

This first fill bourbon barrel was filled on 17th February 2025 at a natural cask strength of 63.30% ABV. The fresh American oak is expected to accentuate the distillery’s bright, orchard-fruited style with layers of vanilla, honey, and gentle spice, while allowing the spirit’s natural vibrancy to shine through. With around 200 litres of new make spirit laid down, the cask promises to develop richness and complexity as it matures.

The purchase price includes three years of professional storage and insurance at Braeside Bond.

This 2024 Tomatin new make spirit has been filled into a fresh sherry hogshead, setting the stage for a richly flavoured and complex maturation. Known for its smooth, fruity spirit, Tomatin’s delicate orchard fruit notes and soft maltiness will beautifully intertwine with the bold influence of fresh sherry cask seasoning. Expect layers of dried fruits, dark chocolate, and warming spices to develop, complementing the distillery’s gentle, honeyed character. Over time, this cask will yield a whisky brimming with depth and richness, while preserving Tomatin’s signature elegance.

Glen Garioch Refill Bourbon Barrel 2020

Glen Garioch, founded in 1797 in the town of Oldmeldrum, is one of Scotland’s oldest operating distilleries. Known for its robust Highland style, the spirit often shows a balance of honeyed malt, baked orchard fruits, and a gentle earthy quality. Glen Garioch single casks are prized for their depth and individuality, offering whisky lovers a bold yet refined Highland character.

This second fill bourbon barrel was filled on 20th February 2020 at a natural strength of 63.76% ABV. At its most recent regauge on 11th February 2025, the cask contained 191 litres of maturing spirit, with a regauged litres of alcohol (RLA) of 122.16. The use of a second fill bourbon barrel allows the distillate to shine with clarity, highlighting Glen Garioch’s malt-forward style while developing layers of vanilla, gentle spice, and a rounded sweetness over time.

Peallach First Fill Sherry Hogshead 2025

Peallach is the trade name commonly used for Ledaig, the peated single malt produced at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. The name allows independent bottlers to showcase the distillery’s unmistakable peated character while respecting trademark protections. Known for its maritime intensity, Peallach delivers bold peat smoke alongside brine, ash and coastal spice, underpinned by an oily texture and a raw island robustness. Often compared to medicinal Islay styles, it retains a distinctly Island character, with a more elemental and visceral profile than the distillery’s unpeated spirit.

Casks from this parcel of new make Peallach were filled on 5 December 2025 at a natural strength of 63.5% ABV into first fill sherry hogsheads with a capacity of 250 litres. The combination of heavily peated island spirit and rich sherry wood is particularly compelling. Sherry maturation has a proven track record of rounding and softening intense smoke while adding depth, sweetness and structure, a style that has historically attracted strong demand from both drinkers and collectors. This marriage of peat and sherry is expected to enhance complexity without diminishing the whisky’s maritime intensity, often commanding a premium as the cask matures.

Founded in 1852, the distillery is renowned for its signature sulphury notes and complex flavour profile, often featuring dried fruit and toasty malt notes. While much of its output is used in blends like Johnnie Walker, Dailuaine has gained a dedicated following among single malt enthusiasts for its limited official releases and independent bottlings. The distillery`s traditional worm tub condensers contribute to its unique and full-bodied style.

This cask of Dailuaine was distilled on 4th November 2024 and filled into a refill bourbon hogshead at 63.5% ABV. The refill bourbon hogshead allows the spirit`s natural character to develop while imparting layers of vanilla, honey, and oak. At the point of filling, this cask will yield an estimated 325 bottles, although that will reduce as the cask matures.
