This 200-litre first fill bourbon barrel was filled on 10th February 2025 with unpeated new make at a natural cask strength of 63.40% ABV. The American oak maturation is set to accentuate Ardnamurchan’s orchard-fruited character with layers of vanilla, honey, and citrus brightness, while also allowing the spirit’s coastal freshness and faint smokiness to shine through. With around 200 litres of new make spirit, the barrel promises an elegant evolution, developing richness and complexity over time.

The purchase price includes three years of professional storage and insurance at Braeside Bond.

Now owned by Diageo, Glenlossie primarily contributes to blended whiskies, including the renowned Johnnie Walker range. However, its single malt releases, often found in independent bottlings or as part of the Flora & Fauna series, showcase its elegant and nuanced character. The distillery shares a site with Mannochmore, another Diageo-owned distillery, and benefits from a large dunnage and racked warehouse complex for cask maturation. This Glenlossie new make cask, filled in March 2025 at 63.5% ABV, captures the distillery’s light, fruity, and slightly oily style. Aged in a first-fill Bourbon barrel, expect a maturation marked by notes of vanilla, honey, and coconut, complementing Glenlossie’s grassy and floral character. Over time, the Bourbon cask will contribute to the whisky’s texture, adding creamy toffee, toasted oak, and citrus brightness. This 200-litre first fill Bouborn barrel was filled in March 2025. Distilled at Ardmore in February 2025, this new make spirit has been filled into a sherry butt for maturation. With a filling strength of 63.5% ABV, the spirit is set to develop rich complexity under the influence of sherry-seasoned oak. The cask’s impact will enhance the whisky’s character over time, adding depth and richness to its evolving profile. Lightly peated (around 12-14 ppm), the new make spirit offers a balanced combination of sweetness and gentle smokiness. On the nose, fresh malted barley and orchard fruits mingle with soft phenolic notes. The palate presents sweet cereal and crisp apple, complemented by a delicate wisp of peat smoke. A clean finish lingers with malty sweetness and a subtle smoky edge, promising an elegant maturation journey.

The cask was filled on the 18th February 2025. At the time of filling, the cask was estimated to yield approximately 736 bottles. Included in the price is three years professional storage and insurance at Braeside Bond.
