Mendoza

The largest winemaking province in Argentina, Mendoza’s vineyards experience overall desert-like conditions, protected from rain in the west by the Andes Mountains and from the east by the vast plains of the Argentine Pampas. Situated on the western frontier of Argentina, with the Andes Mountains representing the border with Chile, Mendoza is a relatively large province in winemaking terms, although production and grape growing is mostly clustered in the north, near Mendoza City.
