Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Catena Birth of Cabernet 2021 is a medium-bodied red wine produced from grapes sourced from two distinct vineyards. La Pirámide in Agrelo and Angélica Sur in Paraje El Cepillo, Valle de Uco. The harvest is conducted by hand, with fermentation occurring in concrete eggs and small stainless-steel tanks. The wine is aged for 18-24 months in a mix of first, second, and third-use French oak barrels. Catena is recognised for pioneering high-altitude viticulture in Argentina.

Full bottle a heavy 1,556 g. Fabulously illustrated label. A new wine and a sibling to Malbec Argentino. From the Angélica Sur vineyard in Paraje El Cepillo, San Carlos, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, at 1,100 m (loamy alluvial soil with dense surface gravel) and La Pirámide vineyard in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, at 950 m (clay topsoil with rounded rocks on the bottom). Fermented in concrete eggs, small stainless-steel tanks and French oak roll-fermentors, at temperatures of 26–28 °C for about 12–18 days. Total maceration of around 18–22 days. Aged in French oak for 18–24 months. First-, second- and third-use barrels. Deep, glowing, purplish crimson. Open and enveloping aroma of pure Cabernet blackcurrant fruit totally integrated with the oak, which adds a touch of spice and a very subtle charry note, which combines with a mineral/rocky savour that balances the fruit intensity. Deep, velvety and remarkably fresh, leaving the palate clean and ready for the next sip. Intense and elegant at the same time and surprisingly rounded/approachable already. A glass of fragrant velvety black fruits with a firm but polished structure for long ageing. Has the potential for complexity as well as the already existing harmony. (JH)

Pioneers of Fine Winemaking in Argentina

Over more than a century, the Catenas have evolved into the pre-eminent winemaking family in Argentina. The family’s history in wine goes back to 1902 when Nicola Catena purchased his first Mendoza vineyard. Much more recently, in 1997, his grandson, Nicolás Zapata pioneered the idea of fine wine from Argentina. Inspired by Bordeaux and Napa, he was the first person to ally Old World winemaking sensibilities to the high-altitude vineyards of Mendoza.

Bodega Catena Zapata is now managed by (Dr) Laura Catena, who continues to uphold the the family’s standard of excellence, harnessing the high-altitude terroir of the Andes through precision viticulture and a highly granular cellar regime to produce one of the finest wine portfolios in Argentina.

The flagship wine of the Catena portfolio is the Nicolás Catena Zapata cuvée in which ungrafted Malbec is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon from ‘grand cru’ multiple plots, all processed via 200 micro-vinifications which are then blended together and matured for 24 months in French oak, with a further two years in bottle before release.
