Meursault Les Rougeots

Les Rougeots is one such lieux-dit. This highly rated named vineyard (a site recognised for its topographical or terroir-related specificity) is devoted entirely to producing Chardonnay grapes. The vineyard is located to the north-east of the village of Meursault and is planted on stony clay-limestone soil, with a favourable, sun-catching southerly and south-easterly exposition. This combination of terroir factors produces wines which are at once rich and mineral-centred. Without doubt the most important producer with a land holding in this vineyard is the iconic Domaine Coche-Dury, whose Les Rougeots Chardonnays can mature gracefully for two decades or more.
