Founded in 1443, the Hospices de Civiles de Beaune began as a charitable almshouse in Beaune, now transformed into a contemporary hospital while the original structures house a museum. Since 1859, an annual charity wine auction has been raising funds for the hospital, and the resulting wines are released under the Hospice`s overarching label. These wines are meticulously crafted at the Hospices` winery, sourced from approximately 60 hectares of vineyard holdings generously donated to the charity over many decades. Many of these vineyards are situated in Premier and Grand Cru sites, including Volnay Santenots, where this release comes from. Santenots Pinot Noir reds are usually lush and rich with good structure, ripe tannins and good ageing potential.

The very essence of Burgundy

Louis Jadot was established in Beaune by Louis Henry Denis in 1859. Over the last 165 years the company maintained exceptional quality of its wines through the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy and now produce wines from over 150 appellations.

Jadot owns almost 125ha of vineyards in the Côte d’Or and more than 298 vineyard parcels sites including 14 Grand Cru and 74 Premier Cru. Within the last decade Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards around Beaune have been managed following organic principles and are in the process of organic certification for the 2024 vintage.
