Moêt & Chandon Grand Vintage Collection 2000 is a prestige-cuvée vintage Champagne produced by Moët & Chandon in Reims, France. Moët & Chandon first introduced the concept of ‘Grand Vintage’ Champagnes in the 19th century. The idea was to showcase exceptional years in Champagne, capturing the unique characteristics and expressions of a specific harvest. The first official release of a Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage champagne occurred in 1842 and today they are produced only in outstanding years. The 2000 vintage in Champagne was characterised by favourable weather conditions that led to a promising harvest. The growing season was marked by relatively warm temperatures and a generous amount of sunshine, allowing the grapes to achieve good ripeness and balanced acidity.

The Pillar of Champagne Excellence

Moët & Chandon, founded by Claude Moët in 1743, quickly gained favor among European nobility during King Louis XV’s reign. Jean-Rémy Moët, Claude's grandson, expanded the brand internationally, with a notable friendship with Napoleon Bonaparte, who frequently visited the estate and inspired the creation of Moët Impérial.

In 1832, the company was renamed Moët et Chandon, incorporating Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles as a partner. The house launched its first vintage Champagne in 1842 and introduced the renowned Dom Pérignon label.

Now part of the LVMH group, Moët & Chandon has the largest vineyard in Champagne and extensive cellars for aging their wines. Cellar master Benoît Gouez upholds the brand’s signature style, blending grapes from various terroirs to create a harmonious product.
