Coche-Dury Meursault Les Rougeots 2007 is a medium- to full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Les Caillerets in the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Based in Meursault, Coche-Dury is a pre-eminent Burgundy wine producer, famous for its almost-mythical Chardonnay wines. The domaine was originally established in the 1920s by Léon Coche and today cultivates around 9 hectares of vineyards. This cuvée comes from Les Rougeots, the renowned Meursault 1er Cru in which Coche-Dury owns a 0.7-hectare plot of vines planted in 1940, 1962 and 1973. "The 2007 Meursault Les Rougeots from Coche-Dury is lovely, the lean, tensile vintage beautifully tempered by this lieu-dit that tends to produce authoritative, dense wines. Aromas of lime, sesame, green pear, wheat toast and preserved lemon, framed by new oak, precedes a full-bodied, glossy wine with superb amplitude, unerring focus and a long, chalky finish. This really blossoms with a decant and is still a good six or seven years away from its apogee." Wine Advocate, 2018

Vinous
The 2007 Meursault Rougeots is a wine I have tasted three or four times now, and it's always a plenty. It has a stunning nose with crushed stone, flint, hints of wild honey and walnut. That walnut tincture translates across to the palate that is beautifully balanced, slightly oily in texture towards the finish with the length worthy of a Premier Cru, which this is in all but name.
