An underrated vintage that is delivering easy to drink signature Pauillac. Pencil lead, smoked cedar, sandalwood, concentrated mint leaf, cassis and bilberry, with finesse, balance and juice. A seductive, moreisih and beautifully balanced wine that is ready to enjoy, but will continue to deliver over the next decade. 70% new oak.Jane Anson6th April 2022

The 2007 Lynch-Bages is well-defined on the nose with blackberry, raspberry coulis, loam and melted tar aromas, quintessentially Pauillac and gaining delineation in the glass. There is just a scintilla of sur-maturité when I return to this wine ten minutes later. The palate is medium-bodied and precocious with sweet black fruit laced with tobacco and graphite, but it lacks some amplitude and complexity on the finish. Tasted at the Lynch-Bages vertical at the château. Neal Martin1st July 2023

Delicious, supple and close to full maturity, the 2007 Lynch Bages exhibits a dark plum/purple color with some lightening at the edge along with tobacco leaf, bay leaf, black currant and earthy, loamy notes. Medium-bodied, supple and charming, it is best drunk over the next 7-8 years.Robert Parker31st August 2011

The Modern Pauillac

Situated in the celebrated Pauillac appellation in Bordeaux, Château Lynch Bages uses around 60% of its 100 hectares to produce its first wine (a 5th growth in the 1855 classification) in addition to producing a second red, Echo de Lynch Bages. These wines display superb Cabernet Sauvignon character, together with smaller percentages of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot making up the blend. A wonderful example of the power and elegance of truly great Pauillac: gloriously supple and smooth with a tannic backbone.

A white wine, known as Blanc de Lynch Bages, is also produced in very small quantities. Made from an elegant blend of the classic white Bordeaux varietals, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle, the resulting wines display exhilarating freshness and dried apricot complexity.
