Laurent Perrier Alexandra 2004 is a vintage-prestige-cuvée Champagne produced by Maison Laurent Perrier in Tours-sur-Marne, France. Cuvée Alexandra is the ultimate expression of Laurent Perrier and is only released in exceptional years. Available here in magnum format, the 2004 is just the seventh release of this outstanding limited-edition Champagne. Disgorged in 2012 it has developed wonderful complexity over time with delicious layers of tangerine, blood orange and red berries. Drink alongside scallops with black truffle.

Vinous
Tasted from magnum, the 2004 Grande Cuvée Rosé Alexandra, Laurent-Perrier’s flagship Rosé is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir (on the skins) and 20% Chardonnay vinified together that has only been bottled seven times since 1982. From the very first taste, the 2004 is utterly spectacular. Rich, ample and vertical in feel, the 2004 is dazzling. Dried rose petal, star anise, tobacco, dried flowers, red berry fruit and earthy notes all grace this utterly exquisite Champagne. As good as the 2004 is today – and it is fabulous – it will be even better in another few years’ time. The 2004 has been nothing short of magnificent on both occasions I have tasted it so far. Elegant Blanc and Rosé
The Laurent-Perrier portfolio is built around three distinct expressions of its unique savoir-faire. The first is the art of assemblage of reserve wines, exemplified by Grand Siècle - a prestige cuvée crafted from three exceptional years to recreate the perfect year. The second is the mastery of maceration, an innovative winemaking technique that led to the creation of Cuvée Rosé in 1968. Finally, the House pioneered the non-dosage (zero dosage) style with the launch of Ultra Brut in 1981, a visionary approach that continues today with Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature.
