Hundred Acre Ark Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard red wine produced from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the Howell Mountain AVA of California. Founded by former investment banker Jayson Woodbridge, Hundred Acre is one of the most exciting projects to have emerged in Napa in the past 20 years, focusing on crafting single-vineyard wines with an emphasis on quality (Jayson`s Wraith was the first ever to receive 100 points for the first three consecutive vintages). The wines are generally aged for at least 30 months in tight-grained barriques before bottling. "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Ark Vineyard has a medium garnet colour and nose of cherry cordial, cassis and blueberry compote with fragrant earth, candied violets and crushed rocks nuances. The palate is full-bodied, rich, elegant and firm with a lovely graininess and bold freshness, finishing very long and earthy." Wine Advocate, 2010

(15.5% alcohol): Saturated dark red. Almost port-like ripeness to the aromas of currant, tobacco, plum jam, mocha and spices, plus a hint of caramelized steak; more red than black in its fruit character. Like liquid silk in the mouth, conveying an almost exotic liqueur-like sweetness plus a truffley hint to the flavors of dried berries, toffee and spices. Amazingly rich yet with good mineral lift to buffer its sweetness. A wonderfully smooth wine with a broad, long finish featuring substantial dusty tannins that saturate the front teeth.Stephen Tanzer1st May 2018
