Haut-Bailly 2009 is a full-bodied Bordeaux red wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation. It presents a deep ruby-purple hue, indicative of its concentration. The nose reveals distinct notes of blackcurrant, earth and subtle tobacco, complemented by a hint of graphite and spice. On the palate, this wine offers a medium to full-bodied experience, showcasing a velvety texture with a persistence that invites further exploration. Haut-Bailly, a historic Bordeaux estate established in 1461, is renowned for its meticulous grape selection and commitment to sustainable viticulture, overseen by Véronique Sanders. This vintage is anticipated to evolve gracefully for decades.

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2009 Haut-Bailly hits the ground running with bold black fruit preserves, Morello cherries, baked blueberries and tilled earth scents with nuances of fried herbs, chargrilled meat and a ferrous waft plus a touch of menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the taut palate has a firm, grainy texture with a lively line lifting the core of muscular fruit, finishing long and earthy. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
