With nearly 40 hectares of vineyard and over 30 different appellations – including six grand crus – Domaine de la Vougeraie is considered by many one of Burgundy’s leading wine producers. This release is the domaine’s 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin, which comes from ‘Les Evocelles’, Vougeraie’s first vineyard acquired back in 1966. The wine was aged for 16 months in oak barrels, 26% being new. It’s an exotically sweet and perfumed cuvée, revealing fresh strawberries and well-integrated tannins.
