Situated in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of the Graves region, Domaine de Chevalier is a leading wine estate located just to the south of Bordeaux city. Recognized for its excellence, it earned the distinction of being classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1959, an accolade bestowed upon both its red and white wines. The Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2010 is a serious white Bordeaux, evoking aromas of apples, pears, and floral elements. The palate reveals a mix of waxy and nutty characteristics that are balanced by minerality and clean acidity.
91 Vinous
Pale straw-yellow. Lemon, chamomile, vanilla, ginger and a faint lactic nuance on the restrained, minerally nose. Pliant and sweet in the mouth, offering good concentration and fat to the vinous lemon, guava and grapefruit flavors. Very minerally on the long finish, showing lingering notes of peach, vanilla and coconut. This should age splendidly and will probably be at its best between 2020 and 2035.Ian d'Agata1st August 2011
