Vinous
Dark red. Cool aromas of cherry, tobacco and currant leaf. Plum and tobacco flavors are bright but rather dry. The tannins seem a bit green and raw. I can't work up much enthusiasm for the red wines made here between '96 and '98.Stephen Tanzer1st May 2001

Graves' Hidden Secret
An illustrious Grand Cru Classé de Graves estate situated in the appellation of Pessac-Léognan. Producing superbly balanced and long-lived reds and white wines, the estate has been in the hands of the Bernard family since 1983.
In addition to its highly renowned first wine, the domaine also produces a second wine from young vines, L’Esprit de Chevalier, and small amounts of a third wine, Pessac-Léognan de Domaine de Chevalier. Key varieties include the traditional Bordeaux grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc for reds and Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for whites.
