Domaine de Chevalier 2001 is a red Bordeaux from the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The wine reflects Domaine de Chevalier`s gravel and clay soils, which contribute to its structure. The bouquet includes aromas of blackcurrant, plum and a subtle earthiness, alongside notes of tobacco and leather. On the palate, it reveals a medium body with fine tannins and balanced acidity. This vintage is now at its peak, ideal for those seeking a classic Bordeaux experience.

The 2001 Domaine de Chevalier has a more flattering bouquet compared to the 2000, featuring gorgeous, very pure black cherry, blueberry and mint aromas that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with similar tannic structure to the 2000, firm and maybe a little austere, displaying fine grip but, atypically for this estate, quite recalcitrant at the moment, so afford it more time in the cellar. 90 Robert Parker
Deep ruby/purple-colored with classic aromas of smoke, earth, black cherries, and creme de cassis, this elegant, layered 2001 possesses outstanding depth and richness as well as impeccable finesse, well-integrated wood, and a long, concentrated finish. Anticipated maturity. 2006-2016. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.
15.5 Jancis Robinson
Quite sweet and feral. (JR)
