Dom Pérignon Rosé 2009 showcases the complexity of its unique vintage, marked by challenges during the growing season. The blend consists of 59% Pinot Noir and 41% Chardonnay, and includes 13% red wine, offering a nuanced profile that reflects the careful craftsmanship of the region`s premier vineyards. Sparkling from extended lees ageing of 12 years, its colour delivers a study in contrast – youth and maturity intertwine. Inspired by the Benedictine monk Pierre Pérignon in the 17th century, Dom Pérignon remains dedicated to the art of vintage Champagne production. This magnum format bottle offers a rare insight into the extraordinary 2009 Champagne vintage.

The 2009 Dom Pérignon Rosé is a sexy, racy wine that captures all the radiance of the year. Kirsch, blood orange, mint, spice and dried flowers unfurl in the glass. Soft, plush contours wrap it all together. Readers will find a Dom Pérignon Rosé endowed with tremendous textural depth and resonance. The 2009 is a total hedonistic turn-on. That`s all there is to it. Antonio Galloni8th April 2025

The Past, Present and Future of Champagne

The first release of this now famous prestige cuvée was the 1921 vintage, launched in 1936. Dom Pérignon produces only vintage Champagnes, both blanc and rosé, and offer a number of late release bottlings under their Oenothèque and Plénitude labels. The wine is named after the legendary Benedictine monk, Father Pierre Pérignon, who in 1668 arrived at the Abbey of Hautvillers, north of Épernay and began experiments that would eventually lead to the creation and bottling of sparkling wine as we know it today.

The Maison produces elegantly balanced, harmonious and extraordinarily age-worthy Champagnes that are appreciated the world over. Young vintages offer a citrus-forward, brioche-like profile while mature bottlings present notes of toasted hazelnut, honey and orange oil. A true classic in the category and a wine that remains eternally popular with connoisseurs.
