Cuvée Frédéric Émile Trimbach 2000 is a renowned Alsace Riesling, a testament to the Trimbach family`s wine-making heritage since 1626. This vintage showcases a blend of grapes sourced from select terroirs in Ribeauvillé, notably the Geisberg Grand Cru. Fermented in stainless steel, the wine exhibits pronounced minerality and bright acidity. Aromas of citrus and stone fruit are complemented by a lingering finish, evidencing its ability to age.

According to Jean Trimbach, the 2000 Riesling Cuvee Frederic Emile has a higher level of dry extract (23 grams per liter) than any other Frederic Emile ever made. This wine reveals demure mineral aromas and a concentrated, tightly-wound character. Layers of minerals and gravel can be found intertwined with candied citrus fruits in its juicy, yet structured personality. It is intense, yet immensely youthful, and demands cellaring. Projected maturity. 2005-2015. - Pierre Rovani

Medium-deep straw-yellow. Diesel fuel, pink grapefruit, papaya and licorice on the rich nose. Then full-bodied and suave, with a bright mineral overlay lifting the soft pear and papaya flavors. The long finish hints at bitter almond and menthol. In a fuller-bodied style than usual for this wine, this is very good but not one of my favorite Frédéric Emile vintages.Ian d'Agata1st September 2013

Deepish gold. Old and German? – losing fruit. Losing freshness. Could be a very dry Trimbach? Lack of fresh fruit in the middle. Very slightly chewy on the finish. (JR)
