Cobos Bramare Marchiori Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 is a concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon from the Marchiori Vineyard in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. This single-vineyard site is characterised by its old vines and deep alluvial soils, which influence the wine`s structure and fruit profile. The 2009 growing season was warm and dry, leading to fully ripe grapes. Aged for 18 months in French oak, this wine offers a complex array of flavours including blackcurrant, dark plum and subtle earthiness. The tannins provide a firm backbone, while the finish is long and rich. Viña Cobos is co-founded by Paul Hobbs, an acclaimed winemaker known for his contributions to both Argentine and Californian wine.

Vinous
Bright ruby-red. Complex nose melds black raspberry, black cherry, minerals, menthol, clove and chocolately oak. Silky on entry, then sweet and concentrated in the middle. A fruit bomb like the Lujan de Cuyo bottling but this is complicated by saline soil tones and boasts more inner-mouth energy and definition. Builds impressively and spreads out on the back, finishing with very civilized tannins.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2012
