Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée is a red Rhône blend from the Southern Rhône. The 2007 vintage was exceptionally warm, producing wines of great ripeness and immediate appeal. This cuvée is a blend of 13 different grape varieties, dominated by Grenache from vines averaging 60 years of age. Winemaking involves no de-stemming and long ageing in large old oak foudres to allow the wild, savoury character of the region to shine. It displays a rustic, powerful profile of blackberry jam, saddle leather and dried herbs.

Opaque ruby. The highly perfumed nose offers an exotic array of red and dark berries, spicecake and potpourri, with hints of smoky herbs and olive adding complexity. Juicy and fresh for a wine that's over 15% alcohol, offering sweet raspberry and cherry flavors framed by silky tannins. Very suave and open-knit today, with excellent finishing clarity and smoky persistence.Josh Raynolds1st January 2010

A Legacy of Tradition in Châteauneuf-du-Pape

In the sun-drenched vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine du Pegau stands as a testament to the power and complexity of Rhône Valley wines. Under the guidance of Laurence and Paul Féraud, the estate produces wines that are both rich and deeply expressive of their terroir. With vines averaging 50 years old, Pegau’s wines are renowned for their ability to age, developing layers of flavor that include dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones. The Féraud family’s dedication to traditional winemaking techniques ensures that each vintage tells the story of the land, making Domaine du Pegau a cornerstone of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
