Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the iconic red wines of the Southern Rhône. Château de Beaucastel`s history dates to 1549, when Pierre de Beaucastel acquired land in the Coudoulet area. In 1909, the Perrin family took control of the estate and has since been a pioneer in elevating Châteauneuf-du-Pape to the world stage.

The estate is renowned for producing terroir-driven red wines that incorporate all 13 traditional grape varieties of the appellation, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Muscardin, Vaccarèse, Counoise, Terret Noir, Picpoul, Clairette, Roussanne, Bourboulenc, and Picardan. "Thoroughly primal, with a torrent of raspberry and boysenberry fruit rushing forth. Only shows hints of its full range, with liquorice, incense, graphite and mocha flavours fluttering in the background. Has an iron-clad structure, with a long finish that shows great cut and grip." Wine Spectator, 2007

This Magnum size offers an extended ageing potential, allowing the wine to develop complexity with time. Ideal for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Ruby-red. Powerful red and dark berry aromas verge on liqueur-like but are enlivened by zesty mineral and anise accents. Lush, supple and sweet, with deep raspberry and cherry flavors, fine-grained tannins and complicating herb and smoked meat tones. Very smooth on the finish, which is sappy, deep in cherry flavor and impressively long.Josh Raynolds1st January 2007
