Chambolle-Musigny 2008 from Domaine Dujac is a village-level red Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits. This wine is a pure expression of Dujac`s signature style, which employs a high proportion of whole clusters even at the village level, resulting in an aromatic, complex texture. This wine displays a tight fragrant profile, offering concentrated aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, floral spice and high-toned minerality. The palate is linear and defined, showcasing structural tension and fine-grained tannins.

Medium red. Musky raspberry, black cherry, minerals, licorice, marzipan and a whiff of cough medicine on the nose. Minerally, serious and tightly structured, with a restrained sweetness to the dark fruit and dark chocolate flavors. Finishes with excellent length. Jeremy Seysses was able to do a lot of whole-cluster fermentation in 2008 thanks to the tiny berries that resulted from millerandage.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2011

A Focus on Terroir

Founded in the late 1960s by Jacques Seysses, who purchased and renovated Domaine Graillet in Morey-St-Denis. The estate is currently run by Jacques' sons Jeremy and Alec, who farm around 17 hectares of vines across the Côte including holdings in Echezeaux, Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

A natural approach is taken in the vineyard and cellar with the estate moving from organic farming to fully biodynamic in the mid 2000s, receiving their certification in 2011. The team's focus is on elegance - temperatures are controlled to keep alcohol in check and also limit malolactic fermentation while juice from the crush is fed into the cellar by gravity only without the use of pumping. The wines of Domaine Dujac represent pure, balanced expressions of their respective terroirs.
