With more than 500 years of history, Domaine Comte Georges de de Vogüé is one of the most famous wine producers in Chambolle-Musigny. Founded in 1450, today the estate is headed by its 20th generation – Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette, the granddaughters of the late Comte Georges de Vogüé. The 2004 Chambolle-Musigny de Vogüé reveals delicate aromas of redcurrant, rose petal, and subtle forest floor. On the palate, it’s light-bodied yet precise, with flavours of sour cherry, cranberry, and earthy minerality. A lively acidity balances fine, silky tannins, leading to a graceful, lingering finish. Elegant and classically Burgundian.

Vinous
Medium red. Tangy, pure aromas of raspberry and crushed stone. Sweet, pure and sharply delineated; quite creamy for 2004 but with excellent thrust and sappy character thanks to its firm acidity. The finish shows a hint of resin as well as a bit of unabsorbed acidity that calls for at least a few years of patience.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2007
