Barolo Riserva Borgogno 2004 comes from one of Italy`s most prestigious wine regions, showcasing the distinctive Nebbiolo grape. This wine is defined by its elegant structure and well-balanced acidity, which, alongside its tannins, gives it great ageing potential. Winemakers in Barolo since 1761, Borgogno is one of Barolo`s oldest wineries established in 1861, renowned for its commitment to traditional winemaking methods. The Riserva bottling reflects the essence of the Barolo terroir, offering earthy complexity and a harmonious depth, with the promise of further evolution in the bottle.

Vinous
Borgogno's 2004 Barolo Riserva emerges from the glass with a host of tobacco, smoke, game, licorice and incense. The firm tannins are very much old school, but at the same time, the wine's mid-weight structure is a bit of a departure from the bombastic wines of the past. With air, the 2004 can be enjoyed today, but readers should expect a fairly burly style of Barolo with slightly oxidative notes that have begun to creep in.Antonio Galloni1st May 2015
