Established in 1978, Luciano Sandrone`s boutique winery is highly regarded in the Langhe region. The creation of ‘Le Vigne’ dates back to 1990, representing a traditional blend of the best vineyard parcels owned by the estate in Baudana (Serralunga), Villero (Castiglione Falletto), Vignane (Barolo), and Merli (Novelli). The grapes undergo natural fermentation with indigenous yeast in open-top steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in 500-liter French oak barrels. The nose is concentrated and immediately reveals dark fruit and savoury spice. The texture on the palate is lively and vibrant.

Vinous
Bright, dark red. Dark raspberry, chocolate and coffee on the nose; smells clearly riper than the 2008. Fat, sweet and plump, with a texture of liquid velvet. Surprising acidity and substantial but smooth tannins give this very ripe Barolo excellent spine. Finishes with a note of menthol. The 2008 may be a bit longer but it's much tighter today.
