The Aubert Reuling Chardonnay 2009 is sourced from the Reuling Vineyard and showcases the distinct terroir of Sonoma. The wine exhibits a balanced acidity complemented by flavours of green apple, citrus and subtle toasted oak. The meticulous cultivation practices employed by Mark and Theresa Aubert are evident in every bottle, as they focus on single vineyard expressions. Since its establishment in 1999, the Aubert winery has gained recognition for producing wines that reflect their specific site characteristics and careful craftsmanship.
94 Vinous
- The 2009 Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard is the biggest and richest of these 2009 Chardonnays. Pastry crust, spices, tangerine and dried apricot are all woven together beautifully in this large-scaled, expressive Chardonnay. Aubert used 100% new barrels here, which comes through ever so slightly in the texture of the fruit. An exuberant, explosive finish rounds things out in style.

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
