Aubert Reuling Chardonnay 2008 is a mature single-vineyard wine originating from the esteemed Reuling Vineyard. This vintage offers notes of ripe pear, lemon zest and a subtle minerality, reflecting the vineyard`s distinctive terroir. Mark and Theresa Aubert focus on small production and meticulous vineyard management, allowing the fruit to convey its character. Crafted with a restrained approach to oak influence, this Chardonnay maintains a balance that captures the essence of its origin.
99 Robert Parker
One of my favorite Aubert offerings that typically has a Montrachet-like character emerges from the Reuling Vineyard. Made from a suitcase clone from Burgundy’s most famous vineyard, it is an extraordinary effort. Readers looking for staggering levels of minerality and depth of flavor should check out this Chardonnay. The 2008 Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard offers aromas of crushed rocks, damp soil, honeysuckle, brioche, lemon oil, orange marmalade and buttered citrus. This compelling Chardonnay is full-bodied with great intensity, good acidity and stunning perfume as well as length. It should drink well for 7-8 years. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.
93 Vinous
(15.6% alcohol) Pale, green-tinged yellow. Reticent but pure aromas of crushed stone, flowers and herbal tea. Broad, classically dry and powerful, with primary fruit flavors currently overshadowed by soil-driven minerality. This is chewy-verging-on-thick and seems the least expressive of this set of chardonnays today.Stephen Tanzer1st May 2010

Aubert

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
