Aubert is a boutique estate that produces Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines from single-vineyard sites in Napa Valley and Sonoma. Founded by husband-and-wife Mark and Teresa Aubert in 1999, it is regarded to be one of California’s cult wine labels.

The Larry Hyde & Sons Chardonnay, grown in the maritime-influenced area of San Pablo Bay, is where white Burgundy meets California.

From Aubert’s coolest site, the 2015 vintage reflects the site`s cool climatic conditions, with aromas of ripe citrus and stone fruit emerging from the glass. The palate offers a balance between richness and acidity, typical of its terroir, making it suitable for ageing. This wine exemplifies minimal intervention in winemaking.

The 2015 Chardonnay Larry Hyde and Sons is unctuous and ample in the glass. Apricot pit, peach, vanillin and candied lemon peel are beautifully delineated. Sumptuous and layered, the 2015 hits all the right notes. Today, the personality of the year masks some of the personality of Hyde, but the wine is impeccable in its balance just the same. The Hyde is the wine in this range that is most marked by the heat of the vintage. Antonio Galloni1st March 2017

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
