Vintage 2003

2003 was an historically hot year in most of Europe. This created problems for wine producers in regions such as Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône Valley. There were exceptions: top estates in the Médoc produced powerful wines with a New World-like opulence, while in Sauternes and Barsac, 2003 sweet wines were among the best of the decade.
