Cabernet - Sangiovese
A Tuscan Triumph
The history of the Cabernet-Sangiovese blend dates back to the early 1970s in Italy's Tuscany region. Winemakers began experimenting with blending Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon to create a more complex wine that could age well. The blend quickly gained popularity, and today, it is considered one of the hallmarks of the so-called "Super Tuscan" style. Cabernet-Sangiovese wines are often described as having notes of dark fruit, such as blackberry and black cherry, along with hints of spice and tobacco. The tannins in the wine are often firm and well-structured.
