Based in the town of Premeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie is a leading Burgundy estate producing 37 individual cuvées each year. The label was launched in 1999 when the Boisset family decided to consolidate what they considered the best 35 hectares of their vineyards into one single Domaine. This release hails from Clos Blanc de Vougeot, a historic walled vineyard founded by the monks of Cîteaux. The 2022 vintage proves to be highly promising, showcasing Burgundy`s ability to maintain its distinctive character even in the presence of increasingly extreme weather conditions.
Vinous
The 2022 Vougeot Blanc de Vougeot Le Clos 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with yellow plum and light jasmine scents unfolding in the glass, certainly with more vigor than the previous vintage. The palate is well-balanced with a rich opening. Very pithy and almost Rhône-like in style, growing peppery towards the finish. I'm not sure about the longevity, but it could be pleasurable in its youth.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
