Domaine de la Vougeraie’s 2023 Vougeot Clos du Prieuré Blanc is a monopole white wine from a small walled vineyard in the heart of Vougeot village. Grapes for this Chardonnay are grown on soils rich in white marl and limestone, lending the wine a chiselled, vertical structure. The 2023 vintage offers a profile of citrus zest, white peach and crushed flint. The palate is medium-bodied with a pithy texture and a refreshing, saline grip that persists through the finish.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
