The Vosne-Romanée Les Clous Prieuré-Roch 2007 is a distinctive Burgundy crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, sourced from a little-known lieu-dit within Vosne-Romanée. Esteemed for its unique terroir, this wine reflects the principles of Henri-Frédéric Roch, a pioneering figure in natural winemaking renowned for his biodynamic practices. The 2007 vintage was marked by vintage-specific challenges, yet Prieuré-Roch produced wines noted for their purity. This offering typically features red fruit nuances, earthy undertones, and a fine acidity, providing insight into the intricacies of the Vosne-Romanée appellation.

Prieure Roch

A Burgundian Titan

Founded in 1988 by Henri-Frédéric Roch, whose family are part-owners of the famous Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Prieure Roch produce wine from vineyard parcels in communes as diverse as Ladoix, Chambertin, Vosne Romanée and Savigny Les Beune. Farming of the vineyards is done to organic standards, veering towards full biodynamics in some instances and cellar techniques are strictly traditional - vinified in large wooden vats, manual punching down and without the use of sulphur.

Wines are kept in barrel for 12-24 months before bottling, although some experiments with extended ageing have taken place - most notably in 2002. These are elegant wines with the ripeness and poise that one would expect from a family that also produce arguable some of the world's great Pinot Noir.
